How To Modify A Pending Stock Order

There are three main ways to modify a pending order

  1. With the limit line
  2. From the Trade Slider
  3. From the Orders window
1. Modify an order using the Trade Slider

To modify the limit price of the order, hover the mouse cursor over the Trade Slider limit line for the existing order. This gives you the double arrow cursor.

Click and hold the mouse button, then drag the limit line to the new price level desired.

Release the mouse button and the Modify confirmation window appears. Click Modify Order to move the limit price of the order to the new price level.

2. Modify an order using the order display line

The order display line allows all aspects of the order to be modified.

To modify Quantity, click on the quantity value shown in the order trade slider

Select the desired quantity from the menu

Click Modify Order to confirm the quantity change

To modify Limit Price, click on the Limit Price field shown in the order trade slider

Select the desired limit price and/or basis from the menu

Click Modify Order to confirm the limit price change

To modify time-in-force (duration), click the Duration field in the trade slider

Select the desired time-in-force from the menu

Click Modify Order to confirm the duration change

3. Modify an order from the Orders window

Right-click anywhere on the order line for the order to be modified

Select Modify Order from the drop down menu

Edit any of the fields in the ticket which are to be modified

Click Modify Order in the modify order ticket to complete the order modification
