How to Start a Drawing Tool Directly From The Chart

Using the new pointer mode you are now able to initiate drawing tools directly from the chart. Here's how.

To Draw on One Point on the Chart

1. Left-click the mouse on the chart and press SpaceBar

Keep the mouse button down when you press the SpaceBar on your keyboard.

2. Select the drawing tool you wish to use (this example will choose arrow)

3. When you hover your mouse over the drawing tool, you will see that tool will on the chart.

4. Click the drawing tool to add it to your chart

Ctrl + Click will apply the drawing to all symbols.

5. Click and drag the tool to place it where you want on the chart. (Click here for more on editing individual drawing tools.)

Note: When you select from the drawing tool dropdown menu, that choice is remembered by the software. Next time you click, simply hit the spacebar twice to repeat your previously used tool.

To Draw on a Region of the Chart

1. Click and drag the mouse on the chart and press SpaceBar

Note: Keep the mouse button down when you press the SpaceBar on your keyboard.

2. Select the drawing tool you wish to use (this example will use an Ellipse)

3. When your mouse hovers over the drawing tool in the menu, you will see that tool on the chart for the region you dragged with your mouse.

4. Click the drawing tool to add it to the chart

Ctrl + Click will apply the drawing to all symbols.

5. Click and drag the drawing tool to move it to a different area of the screen.
