How to Create a Condition Set With Multiple Conditions
Combining multiple conditions in a Condition Set is simple. Conditions can be mixed and matched from different indicators, in different time frames and created in different ways (e.g. from the chart, out of the library or with formula PCFs). For this example we are going to create a Condition Set to find stocks which meet the following criteria now: Price between $10 and $100, Average Daily Volume Greater than 500,000 shares, Stochastics is overbought and the stock is currently making a new 50 day high.
1. Click EasyScan in the main toolbar
2. Click New Condition
Selecting New Condition would allow you to create a single new condition instead of a new set of conditions.
3. This opens the Condition Set editor
4. Click Add Condition to open the condition wizard. Select Choose Condition(s).
Use the typing shortcut to select Price as the indicator to use. Click PRICE in the list.
Click the Condition dropdown and select Is Between from the list.
Set the desired Minimum and Maximum values. (Set the value with the sliders to see the value compared to the market).
Note: when creating individual conditions, click the Save button to name and add them in the condition library for re-use.
5. Add the next condition
Click + Add Condition to open the condition wizard. Select Choose Condition(s).
Use the typing shortcut in the Search field to type the number 90. (The example will be: Average Volume Greater than 500,000 shares per day). Select Volume 90-Day from the list.
Set the Greater Than value to 500000.
6. Add the next condition
Click + Add Condition to open condition wizard. Select Choose Condition(s).
Use the typing shortcut in the Search field to type part of the word Stochastics. (The example will be: Stochastics overbought). Select Stochastics from the list.
Set the Condition (Greater Than) value to 80.
7. Add Final Criteria
Click + Add Condition to open condition wizard. Select Choose Condition(s).
Use the typing shortcut to select Price as the indicator to use. Click PRICE in the list. (The example will be Price at New 50 Bar High)
Click the Condition drop down and select New High. Set the At field to 50.
The Condition Set is now complete.
- TC2000 assumes that the condition set is being constructed with all conditions set to the same timeframe (e.g. daily or 1-min). To mix timeframes, click the Use mixed timeframes tick box.
- When constructing Condition Sets, click the Copy Conditions button to copy conditions to the clipboard to use elsewhere in TC2000.
- Click the Save button to name and save the condition set.
8. Run the Scan
Click the Apply to... button to choose how to immediately apply the condition. (In this example, choose New Filtered WatchList).
- Window in Current Layout (opens target mode with option to choose any window)
- New Filtered WatchList (Opens new window with default WatchList and sorts by condition set)
- New Market Gauge (summary of scan results over time)
- New Market Indicator (historical scan plot)
- New True/False Column in WatchList (sortable T/F column in current active WatchList)
- New Data Grid (creates new Data Grid with the condition set as an entry)
- Clipboard (copy conditions to computer clipboard for reuse)

9. Review Results
The resulting list of symbols will meet all of the Conditions that were set as part of the Condition Set. The name of the Filter (or conditions) is next to the filter icon. A T/F column has been added to the results window showing a checkmark for each stock that meets the conditions. Even if the filter is deactivated, the column with its results will remain.
The time stamp next to Scanned shows when the Scan was last updated.
To refresh the Scan results click the icon which looks like two arrows going in a circle.
Streaming Scans: TC2000 Platinum users can Stream filters in real time. Choosing a refresh rate allows you to decide how often you want your scan results to be automatically re-scanned. Click the Refresh drop down menu. Choose the time interval at which you want your scan to be refreshed. TC2000 automatically re-scans the WatchList to update results on that interval.
To apply the condition to any time frame, click the condition name next to the Filter icon. Click the Time drop down and choose the time frame in which to apply the filter.
To sync the time frame to any other tool window (e.g. the Chart) use the TimeFrame color groups.
10. Edit Condition Set
To re-enter/Edit the Condition Set conditions, click on the name of the filter (next to filter icon) and then click on the name in the Edit Columns & Filters window.
Click on any of the Conditions. Change criteria settings in the Editor. Click OK when completed.
Note: the conditions in this article are only examples. Any indicators, fundamentals, PCFs, etc., within TC2000 can be used in an EasyScan.
